Auto fill Google Forms Using Google Sheets

Do you have to fill same google form repeatedly ? If yes then this article is for you. I will explain how using google sheets and simple formula you can auto fill Google Form. Let’s check it out.

What is Google Form and How to Access it

Google form is a Google Workspace online application and it 100% free. It is used to create survey links, quizzes, registration forms or feedback forms.

To access Google Form you login into a Gmail account and open this URL – Google Form Link

To add question you have to click the plus sign on the right and start adding your questions and their options

Once your questions are ready then you have to click on Send button to share it with intended people

Provide the email address or group alias and share Google Form directly. You have option to collect email address of the user who fills your form.

To generate a pre-filled Google Form should have edit rights

Once you have edit rights then on the top right you have to click on 3 dots and select get pre-filled link

After clicking pre-filled link a new Google Form will open, fill out all questions and at the end click on Get Link button

Now click on copy link at bottom left

How to auto fill using pre-filled Google Form in Google Sheets

Below is the URL I got after copying above pre-filled link

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScAIsIm49jQ7aFWQNKSIGR56DAxJobGumNi6IessCj3ZnYX9g/viewform?usp=pp_url&entry.705911357=hello&entry.1811042515=Option+1&entry.1277326182=Option+1

In the URL observe there is a term used entry.number this is the way Google Form saves data and transfer to Google Form backend.

So if we can replace the data after entry.705911357=hello then we can automatically fill the form in Google Sheets

Just by replacing the entry you can now create auto filled Google form as shown below

Click on the URL generated and you will be prompted to continue

Click on continue and it will auto fill your Google Form
